Recognizing the complexity, identifying pain threshold and mapping the variables (emotional, distracting, protective, warning, stressful, connected to trauma or past experience, disabling or chronic) of pain.
Establishing an environment of SAFETY through person-provider communication.
Providing an framework to focus on nurturing the self with conscious actions and commitment to modify lifestyle and taking accountability to maintain a sustainable living.
Treatments include the Bio-psycho-social model of wellness,visualization techniques, breath training, postural training, soft tissue manipulations, myofascial releases and modifications using props to promote safety and enhance well-being.
MTY for neck pain: - This series focuses on breath and stability of spine. Emphasis on scapula-humeral rhythm and importance of neck, arm stability postures for management and prevention of neck pain. A hands on approach is utilized with each client to provide optimal alignment and promote safety.
MTY for low back pain: - Focuses on breath and stability of the lower spine. Emphasis on Lumbo-Pelvic rhythm and "Pelvic Stability" as the gateway pose followed by postures for the treatment, management and prevention of low back pain. A hands on approach utilized with each client to provide optimal alignment and promote safety.
MTY for extremity pain: - The focus is on treatment and management of lower extremity (hip, knee, ankle) pain.
